Welcome to Osypka Medical!

Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, Osypka Medical was founded in 1986 by a group of ambitious biomedical engineers. Under the leadership of the young entrepreneur Dr. Peter Osypka, the foundation for temporary pacemakers and pacing system analyzers was laid.

In 2001, Osypka Medical expanded its perspective from the heart only, to heart and circulation. Motivated by Donald A. McDonald‘s statement in Blood Flow in Arteries (1960), “The discovery of a technically simple and nontraumatic way of estimating the output of the heart is something of an El Dorado.”, Dr. Donald Bernstein‘s passion for hemodynamics, and Dr. Eberhard Gersing’s expertise in bioimpedance measurements, Osypka Medical designed a line of completely noninvasive cardiometers, the AESCULON®, the ICON® and the ICONCore®.

Osypka Medical values and appreciates every aspect of life. We are thankful for the health of our families. We take to heart that each day medical professionals and patients rely on our medical devices. We work as one team, from engineering to the production floor to the colleagues of international sales and marketing. We embrace medical safety and efficacy. We want to improve the clinical outcome of patients. We appreciate our customers and listen to them – and would like to see them coming back!
